Coastwise is a Canadian Great Lakes marine survey group, providing vessel representation from small boat owners to superyacht owners/managers, insurance brokers/underwriters, financial institutions, Ports and Marinas. Our services include pre-purchase, insurance valuation and damage claims, condition valuation inspections. We offer marine surveying representation outside Canada, on a request for services basis.
Work With Trained Yacht Marine Surveyors
Our marine surveyors are trained and accredited through recognized international marine organizations, and are required to engage in annual professional skills development, to keep pace with accelerated changes in the marine environments.
Our yacht marine surveyors can be employed to survey and value everything from small craft to so called mega yachts, float homes, marine recreational tour operations, marinas, boatyards, and damage repair supervision of vessel of varying types and sizes. The surveyors job essentially is to ensure that the vessel is fit for purpose and suitable for the intended area of operation in Lakes, Bays, Rivers, Sea, and/or offshore cruising.
Our yacht surveyors are trained and able upon request, to survey specific items, other than hulls of such vessels, but also masts, standing rigs, steering systems, machinery, electrical, gas and hotel systems. Special survey requests and sea-trials are quoted separately on a, case by case basis, subject to vessel size.
Vessel Representation & Incident
Coastwise surveyors are trained on incident or accident investigations and are called upon investigate and report on cause and affect conditions, then relied upon as an expert witness at subsequent insurance and legal proceedings.

Coastwise offers loading/unloading supervision of yachts for seasonal marine transport, with float-on / float-off, and/or, lift-on / lift-off methods of transport. Our representation is Canada/USA coasts, Caribbean, and Central American.
