Coastwise cargo brokerage typically specializes in the chartering of Heavy-lift, Breakbulk, Over-dimensional, and yacht transport, and are engaged to act either for a shipowner looking for employment for a ship, or a charterer with a cargo to be shipped. Coastwise maintains a database of vessel positions, cargoes, and rates, paying constant attention to the direction of the markets to advise their clients accurately as to how to maximize profits or minimize expenses. Cargo service area is the Canada, United States, Caribbean and Central American markets.
